The first day of your Budget Short Break in Egypt begins with a delicious buffet breakfast at your hotel, and it will be followed by a meeting with your certified tour guide. You'll head to the Saqqara Necropolis with your tour guide for a sightseeing tour from Cairo, where you'll be transferred to the old kingdom necropolis to see the Step Pyramid complex of King Djoser, the tombs of the nobles, and the Pyramid of King Teti. Your guide will do their best to make the history of Egypt easy to understand by simplifying the basics of the ancient Egyptian religion.
You'll visit the tomb of Kagemni, son-in-law of King Teti, who ruled Egypt during the 6th dynasty. Then, you'll transfer to the ancient city of Memphis to discover the artifacts that date back to different periods of the pharaonic period, such as the alabaster sphinx of Memphis and the colossal statue of King Ramses II.
Next, you'll transfer to the Pyramids of Giza to start an amazing tour of the three pyramids, which were built by the kings of the 4th dynasty: Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus. You'll see the grandeur of the great pyramid of Khufu, which is the tallest structure in the world from 4500 years ago until the construction of the Lincoln Cathedral in 1311 A.D.
You can enjoy an optional camel ride in the Giza Pyramids for one hour while taking amazing photos of the landscape. You'll also see the Great Sphinx of Chephren, the mythological figure of a man-headed lion, and enter the Valley of Temples, or mummification temple, inside the funeral complex of Chephren while your Egyptologist guide tells you about the different phases of the mummification process.
After your tour, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch in a good-quality restaurant overlooking the Pyramids and the Sphinx. Finally, you'll transfer back to your hotel for an overnight stay after a day full of exciting tours in Cairo.
